The Sanctuary is intended to be a place where Members of all faiths and belief systems can meet to discuss topics of interest. Threads here can run the gamut from intricate discussions of the meanings of Bible passages, to comparisons of different faiths, to debates on philosophical principles.

Most people feel strongly about their religion and other beliefs. For this reason, we would ask that you please make an extra effort to be respectful while in The Sanctuary. Common decency should make it obvious what would be considered anti-social behavior here. For example, a thread featuring Christians discussing the Trinity is not the place for an atheist to make derogatory comments about the Bible; likewise, an exploration of Wicca is not the place for Christian proselytizing.

Those who wish to be more clear about the nature of a discussion and who want to restrict it appropriately may make a notation in the thread title, such as "{Christian}" or "{Pagan}". Anyone is welcome to reply to such threads as long as they are willing to stay within the confines of the discussion as defined. The purpose of this is to allow the exploration of doctrines or beliefs in a constructive manner.

Finally, use The Chapel for productive, constructive discussions. Derogatory threads or stories belong in The Coliseum or The Dungeon as appropriate.

Not that it matters but when did I care about that. I'm an atheist - still not even sure what I mean by that but life is an exploration & not having answers doesn't, for me, make our universe & our place in it any less wonderous. There have been times in my life when I wished I'd believed in something - it would have been conforting to say the least. But the only thing I can wrap my mind around is that there is far too much beyond my understanding, no matter what system I use, so be it.

Having said that a chapel doesn't have to be devoted to one specific purpose or denomination of any faith. Hospital chapels don't & I've spent my share of time in them. The place, the CONCEPT is a good one - a place of quiet contemplation, discussion & exploration. For many in different ways, a place of comfort. I have experienced a sense of comfort in various chapels & no, I don't know why. I have some amorphous ideas but have never reasoned them through. I like mysteries.

This is a terrific place to have some far reaching discussions & I really like that. I've studied in a shallow sense a number of fiaths & in each have found at least 1 thing, a way of doing things, an approach, a philosophy, I like. And no, I'm not trying to make faith sound like a self serve salad bar where you can take what you choose. I'm simply saying such a little corner of the internet has potential for all to learn - about themselves, each other & in some manner - what drives us.

That's good.

I am not replying to anyones comment, but meant to post this as a statement, I really just want to say that at a time like this in our world, the most important thing for people to put first is to prepare spiritually, your faith will play a huge role in how you and your loved ones come out in this, everything is happening for reason, and I feel that we are in the end times, we are not only in serious danger of facing a pandemic worldwide, but other very catastrophic dangers are possibly going to be sent to us at any time. If you want to learn specifics go to tldm.com or endtimesreport.com and click on "quickening news" check out the drudge report, unusual news, rense.com. Unusual news will give you info that will open your eyes wide, when I firsts read "unusual news" I thought it was sensationalized boloney, but then a day or two later or even up to two weeks later I would read it on the Yahoo news headline, or see it on foxnews, or cnn. Its scary and shocking, but true about what is happening in the world as we sit back and worry about only the birdflu.
