Wow!

Pontiff invokes the Apocalypse, discusses ultimate defeat of evil

Posted: January 13, 2005
6:13 p.m. Eastern

In comments before 7,000 people attending the General Papal Audience yesterday at the Vatican, Pope John Paul II commented on the Apocalypse, saying that the increase in violence and injustice in the world is the work of a furious Satan who doesn't have "much time left" and ultimately will be defeated.

According to a report in the Italian website AGI online, the pope said, "God and the Lamb, Christ, surrounded by the 'Council of the Crown,' are judging human history in good and evil, but showing us however the ultimate end in salvation and glory. The songs which are found in the Apocalypse and which serve to illustrate the issue of divine glory which regulates the flux, often disconcerting, of the tide of human events."

I wonder what Jack Chick thinks about this?

He doesn't even think Catholics are Christian.

Each 'christian' has their own personal Jesus.

Just let me know when the apocalypse starts, I wouldn't want to miss the fireworks and self righteousness.

Who is Jack T. Chick?
Many, after reading his tracts and the bizarre world-view they promote, would be inclined to ask WHAT Jack T. Chick is, much less who he is! Rumor has it that back in the 50's Chick was an aspiring Comic Book artist, who tried to get jobs at Marvel and D.C. Comics, but just didn't have the kind of talent that they were looking for. Chick's luck almost ran out, when he was born again, and decided to make comic books especially for a Christian audience. His talent caught on, and his publishing company, which literally got started on his kitchen table for just $24.00, grew into a multi-million dollar publishing empire, which the kooky evangelical fundy Christian world has embraced with a passion. Chick tracts are now published in dozens of languages, and are distributed in over 100 countries all over the world! Little is known about Jack Chick, since he has never published any biographical data, but from his tracts, we can all guess that he is a pretty scary little Fundy troll, who believes virtually every conspiracy theory under the sun, especially if it feeds his paranoid world view.

Chick's tracts are probably the best indicator of just how much medication this guy needs to be put on. The world that his tracts assemble as you read them, is one where secret societies of Satanists hide behind every Halloween party and role-playing game, where The Catholic Church plans the assasination of world leaders, and where people who suffer for their whole life and die a horrible death are supposed to be lucky just because they go to Heaven when they die. Conspiracy theories that would make the John Birch Society look sane by comparison, quasi-racist charicatures of non-whites and Jews, and unlikely scenarios are Jack T. Chick's trademarks.

Rumor has it that he has been sued several times for articles he has published about people whom he hates, and had to pay large settlements to, due to his slanderous, libelous attacks (But is it slander or libel if God himself beams the message into your skull?). Pending a more extensive biography of Jack Chick for this website, you can probably find out some more information on the LINKS section of this site. Don't worry, more information will come, including a walk through his catalog, which has some rather interesting comments in it. Enjoy!

While I find all the Pope's statements on the Apocalypse interesting I think the term used here does not mean the Apocalypse is imminent. At least not on a biblical scale.

Well, is the Pope representing God ?
Why do you think that the pope would even use a upside down cross?
At the bottom of this web page from the provided URL you may see the pictures that I saved from the news last Easter.. Yes this is my website and yes I have spent a long time researching this subject, and I know it is disturbing to many.
But if it were not true, then I would have never would have stuck my neck out.

I am aware of the reason given for the upside down cross by Catholics, I just do not buy it.

PS There is no pre-trib Rapture either.. As the page explains..

I do believe this is on topic for this thread. ( is it not? )
Beware, the time runs short ( 2007 ) It never said that no man could not figure the Month or the year !

This is the problem.
No one wants ‘evil’ in the world but ‘evil’ is a subjective commodity. H2O thinks it’s one thing, the Arabs think it’s another, the Christians think it’s something else and on and on.

Maybe it might be a good idea to define ‘evil’ before we go out and banish it from the world like they did in the Crusades, because we may be creating more upheaval then we are eliminating.

Webster defines evil as:
morally reprehensible, sinful wicked.

The problem is that we all have different standards and perceptions of what exactly moral is and our opinions are an aspect of our subjectivity and when we act on our subjectivity outwardly towards others we create chaos in the world.

So it seems the only one who can banish ‘evil’ from the world is God because it is only God whose perspective is absolute truth and not subjective truth which brings us to the next question. If God hasn’t banished ‘evil’ in the world so far then why not? Is it that God is letting the ‘devil’ run rampant so ‘he’ can sort out the ‘good’ guys from the ‘bad’?

Personally I think we’re a supreme test of stupidity and arrogance in God’s little Petri dish of bacteria run amok.

We have warred since the beginning of history never having learned the stupidity of that action. Not only have we not learned it but we still feel the need for bigger weapons.
We have starvation throughout the world because oligarchies grow cash crops instead of food crops to feed their own people.
We have nine year old children locked in glue factories at ten cents an hour making two hundred dollar pairs of sneakers.
We have created strains of deadly viruses and chemical weapons and actually used them on each other.
We drop bombs on tens of thousands of innocent people in the name of freedom.
We have polluted the soil, the oceans and the air.
We have brought thousands of animals and insects to extinction.
We have modified crops and fish to the point where the original specie is gone forever.

Nice work from the most dangerous animal on the planet. So personally I hope the pope is right and God has finished his experiment and the ‘evil’ in the universe, homo sapien, will finally be washed down the laboratory drain and forgotten forever.

You have NO idea what I think as a whole !
Why not just worry about what you think, for a change !

H2O thinks it’s one thing

You according to the Bible do the devils work...
No I am not going to play you're game, and NO I am not going to bother explaining to you where in the Bible it saids that your behavior is the work of Satan. You have not read the Bible ! You can not read the Bible on one or even 10 passes and KNOW what it is trying to teach. You may continue with you're worthless reply now.. I find you quite boring ! :)

This is what you think. So I do have an idea.

You according to the Bible do the devils work...

and this is what you think and it’s the same antediluvian thinking that created the Inquisition.

No I am not going to play you're game, and NO I am not going to bother explaining to you where in the Bible it saids that your behavior is the work of Satan. You have not read the Bible !

Actually I did. We just have different interpretations. Anyone can read it and anyone can interpret it. It’s not rocket science. It always amazes me how individuals who disagree with other individuals who know all about ‘god’ are doing the work of ‘satan’.

You can not read the Bible on one or even 10 passes and KNOW what it is trying to teach. You may continue with you're worthless reply now.. I find you quite boring ! :)

You and everyone else ‘knows’. That’s why there are as many interpretations as there are ‘christians’. It’s embarrassing to say the least.

Now we have the pope talking about ‘evil’. I think he should clean his own house first.
