I have'nt been here lately because I've been busy with a web design course I'm taking. I have to send these two sites I built into my instructor for marking. The point or learning lesson was on user links to navigate around the sites only. I would appreciate any problems I may have missed eg-broken links etc...

I appreciate so much your help!

Site #1 - http://members.shaw.ca/k.hunt/pottery.html

Site #2 - http://members.shaw.ca/r.hunt/patti'spottery2.htm

Here's how the assignment read:

Instructions

In this assignment you will design the navigation for 2 web sites that are described below.

Design web sites that use at least 3 different navigational structures in total .
For each web site, create a home page and as many secondary pages as you need to demonstrate the effectiveness of your navigation.
Submit your web sites to your instructor via e-mail by zipping up your web site folders (html pages and content).
Important Note: In this assignment you will NOT be marked for your content or your artistic merit. In fact, for your content you can just use "lorem ipsum" text- its only function in this assignment is to take up space. The intent of the assignment is to design and implement navigational structures only.

Web site #2 - A Small Business Site for Patti (a potter).

The information that follows is "scrambled" but should all be included in the web site.

Group the information into categories/headings as necessary.
Create an outline like the one shown for Web site #1 and draw an organizational flow chart to help you to create your navigational structure(s) and web pages.
"Patti's Pottery" Web Site Content

training, education and experience
achievement and awards for work
gallery exhibitions (past, present and upcoming)
artist statement or philosophy
1 photo of artist and 3 family photos
2 photos of studio
15 large photos of: artwork # 1, #2, #3, #4, #5, #6, #7....#15
phone number, fax number, e-mail
payment instructions
online order form, and faxable order form
shipping information
frequently asked questions
guest book
information about commission work
price of artworks
descriptions of the artwork seen in the photos
copyright statement

I sincerely appreciate any time and help by any of you!

Thanks!

Kath :)

I looked at pottery .html. The first thing I noticed was that the pages never finished loading. The status bar says "Transferring data from members.shaw.ca" and the progress bar doesn't move.

At the top of the menu are two buttons. One is actually a title for the page and does nothing, although it acts like a button. The other right below it says Menu and likewise does nothing although it acts like a button. That is very annoying. It looks the same as a programming blunder.

Everything else I tried worked.

Pottery2 looks nice and everything I tried worked.

BTW Here is a site you will enjoy. Don't mind the name, it should be required reading for all web page designers.

The second site works fine. Might be a few spelling/meaning errors.... copyrite? and ' You can't send us an email directly from here, this is a way to prevent from spamming practices. Instead, please copy-and-paste our address above into your mail software.'

The other site has color glitches in the menu bar on the left. The buttons don't seem to work in a predictable manner. What appear to be links in the pages don't work, altho they may not be links they look like they should be links.

Just my $.02 . Take it for what it is worth.

Good luck!
