There are over 2,400 Christian denominations. Which ones are of God??? Are 1,000??? Are 500??? Are 100??? Are 5 denominations right in the sight of God??? God is not the author of confusion ( I Corinthians 14:33) !!! There is only one way (Eph. 4:4-6) It is impossible for God to lie. Satan is the author of lies and confusion!!!
Are you truly in the Church that is going to be with the Lord??? Read your Bible for the answers!!!

God Bless,

Gene

And which bible would that be, Catholic, Orthodox or Protestant?

Seriously, God looks at the heart of the believer and not his church affiliation. Is it not possible for a good and holy muslim to go to heaven ahead of a church going "christian" sinner who is constantly judging his fellow man? I think it was the Hindu Gandhi who said something like, "if christians lived what they say they believed, I would be a christian too"

As for finding answers in the bible, I find the most sincere christians are the ones who find their questions in the bible not answers. Faith by its nature does not seek answers.

Exactly my question!

Not only that but each of the major denominations you mentioned have at least 2-3 variants each.

Which Cannon did they use, etc.

I don't think most people realize when each of the Cannons were agreed upon a bunch of elitest men (usually of the cloth) sat around and decided what was going to represent the Holy Word.

Some works got included, some didn't based on a whole bunch of factors some political.

Most people think that the Bible is either words words delivered by God to people written down directly (Old Testament) or words spoken by Jesus or Apostles written down directly and made into the Bible.

Any combined works called "The Bible" wasn't developed until something like 450 A.D. IIRC

Don't get me wrong, there are some good lessons in there but the hand of man has been fooling around with them for hundreds of years.

Hi All,
There is only one Church in the Bible that is of God. It is an invisible Church "which is the body of Christ". All Christians are baptized into the Church the moment they are saved by the Holy Ghost. God only has and keeps the membership book. It is not a denomination. Denomination means division and is listed as a sin. Membership is not based on our works but on accepting Jesus Christ as our saviour. His works get us into the "Church which is Christ's body" and into His family!!!
All true Christians are members of this Church and are brothers and sisters no matter their race or location and are all sinners save by grace!!!

...or, as opposed to All True(tm) Christians?

:D

Seriously, I think that the point is that the Christ is both All and One, and is not a function of a point of view or interpretation. There is no difference between us.

Nanna .... forgive my thickness here.... but what does the (tm) after True mean?

By 'there is no difference between us' do you mean there is no difference in the behaviors dogma and so forth of Christians... or do you mean there is no difference in the acceptance of Jesus as the son of God and Savior etc ?

I suspect the latter.

(tm) means Trademark - as in there are some who call themselves "True Christians" as if it is an ownership thingy ... they are and nobody else, in other words.

When I say there is "no difference", what I mean is that I think that the Christ Spirit is not bound by the illusion of separateness provoked by the meatsacks we call bodies.

Interesting... view.. Thanx.

Correct me if I am wrong...but I take it you are basically saying the Body of Christ is one...a spirit...singular.

I think we are all One in Spirit.

I think you and I have a similar view... though I dont use christian or religious reference...it basically comes down to something the same...or very close to the same.

Of -one in spirit..

That is a minimal way of expressing it... and I am coming to the conclusion that anything beyond the minimal is simply an exercise in verbosity.

One in spirit...works for me.

Chills,

I use whatever frame of reference I think communicates. There are not many who call themselves Christian who would consider me such! (to say the least ...)

When speaking with a scientist, for example, I tend to use quantum mechanics to illustrate my point of view. I am of the opinion that the "charmed particle" is analogous to the second "he" in the "formula" of IHVH for example.
