I just wanted to report that yesterday I shot a bunch of Albainian 7.62X54R out of my M44 and I was very pleased with it. It hit at point of aim,with the bayonet extended,at a little over 100 yards,fed and extracted well and most importantly it is very cheap. Had soda cans dancing around with nearly every shot for hours from offhand. The rounds I had were from 340 round spam cans.

I love my M44. However, I have had nearly everyone insist the point of aim changes with the bayonet extended, but I have yet to have one person successfully prove it. Mine sure does not.

O6,I've heard the same thing from many sources and I can't say whether or not its true. I just like having a bayonet hangin out there.

BTW,you guys have any clips for your Mosins? If not I know of a fella back east who has old East German ones for $.50 each,plus actual postage. The ones I bought from him still have wax on em and work real slick. Let me know if you would like his contact info.

O6,I'm guessin they're spring steel. Real lightweight and they're a light grey color with wax on em. I've had no problems with them feeding. The fella I bought em from said he took em off East German surplus ammo back in the early/mid ninties.
