"unbelievable blizzards, whiteouts, and high winds"
Great,I can make a small fortune shoveling roofs. Jan/Feb are my slow times anyhow. There's a silver lining to every cloud.

You two might like the following site.

The author, Robert Felix, thinks everyone's got global warming wrong. In his view, it's Earth warming b/c of cyclical changes. This leads to increased volcanism, primarily underwater, and ocean warming. This equals, more wet stuff falling . . . as snow.
His book (which I've read) is well documented with hard science. Even if the book isn't you're cup of tea, his site is informative. He keeps track of rain/snow/temperature information on one of the links. Another item he documents is that many glaciers (at least those not next to the warming ocean water) are expanding.

Let's have some warming from the global warming.
I don't need any stinking cold winter. (Even though it is 25 here this morning...)
