BERLIN — Police in Germany on Monday stopped a bus carrying about 50 Japanese tourists to conduct medical checks for bird flu and SARS, the German news agency Deutsche Presse Agentur reported.
DPA reported that doctors at a military hospital briefly checked the passengers after the police directed the bus into a parking area on the highway. None of the passengers had any symptoms of the two diseases, it said. According to the DPA, a woman passenger had complained of a chill, while another woman in the same group who had been left behind at the hotel, was suffering from nosebleed. (Kyodo News)
