I used to have a program named Net Medic that a live bargraph that showed KB/second.... any one know of one for XP, or does Windows already have a utility?

Check around here (http://www.snapfiles.com/freeware/network/fwnetmoni.html). "NetMeter" (about halfway down) may be what you're looking for.
